Geberit Mapress Carbon Steel piping system

CLOSED CIRCUITS RELIABLY PRESSED

The economical alternative

Geberit Mapress Carbon Steel was designed for installations in which economy is of the highest priority. The Geberit Mapress Carbon Steel system pipes are available in two designs – with a cream plastic jacketing made of PP or with an outside zinc plating. System pipes with both inside and outside zinc plating are also available for special applications.

Reasons to choose Geberit Mapress Carbon Steel

Simple connection

The defined jaw guide on the Geberit Mapress Carbon Steel fitting ensures that the pressing jaw is positioned in exactly the right position. It also prevents any risk of the joint slipping or being pressed in the wrong place. This prevents failed pressing sequences and ensures reliable and durable connections.
Geberit Mapress Carbon Steel system pipes

The plastic coating made of polypropylene reliably protects Geberit Mapress Carbon Steel system pipes in the dimensions DN 12 – DN 54 mm against external corrosion. All Geberit Mapress Carbon Steel system pipes from DN 12 to DN 108 mm are also available in a zinc-plated version for individual solutions for renovations and new constructions as well as for surface-mounted and concealed installations.
Faster connection

Pressing is not only straightforward, but also fast – in fact, it's around twice as fast as welding or soldering. The pressing procedure itself is fast and simple: cut to length, deburr, mount the fitting, press – and you’re done.
No open flames

The strength and tightness of the press connection is achieved by cold deformation of the pipe and fitting. In contrast to welding and soldering operations, no open flame or heat is required. Additional protection measures are unnecessary for renovation and repair work.
Spheroidisation of the Geberit Mapress seal ring

The Geberit Mapress seal ring is given a pre-defined shape during the pressing procedure. During this process the ring absorbs additional energy for permanent and reliable tightness.
Mechanical strength

The coordinated components lend the system a very high load bearing capacity. Operating pressures of 2.5 MPa (25 bar) and more are possible. Due to the high level of mechanical strength, a wide range of applications is possible which extends far beyond the usual domestic heating installations.
Homogeneous material structure

Particularly in the seal ring contact surface area, the clean weld seam contributes significantly to ensuring the system's permanent tightness and to cutting susceptibility to corrosion. The weld seam processing has to meet Geberit's stringent quality demands. A special thermal treatment ensures the desired homogenous material structure and thereby an optimum pressing operation.
Red pressing indicator

The red colour of the pressing indicator on the fitting enables clear identification of the material. In addition, a print on the pipe end facilitates the identification of the dimension used. The pressing indicator can be simply removed manually after the correct pressing operation.
Protection plug

The pressing sockets of Geberit Mapress Carbon Steel sockets are sealed with a plug that protects the supply network from dust and dirt. The colour of the protection plug also identifies the application.
Additional safety

The Geberit Mapress seal ring provides the pressing indicator with additional safety. Due to its special contours, unpressed connections leak during the pressure test. This recognition feature prevents harm later during operation.
