PuraVida – a Light, Poetic Note in the Bathroom. By Hansgrohe

August, 2010

Phoenix Design Develops Bathroom Range in Cooperation with Hansgrohe and Duravit.  At ISH 2009 Hansgrohe and Duravit present a new range for the bathroom: PuraVida – a creation by Phoenix Design, Stuttgart/Tokyo.

With the new range of bathroom mixers, showers, accessories, bath and shower tubs, ceramics and furniture, PuraVida, Phoenix Design developed a completely new, living and flowing design language.

Hansgrohe and Duravit cooperated in developing the extensive range PuraVida to create a holistic concept for the livingspace “bathroom”. “A wonderful challenge for creating a perfect symbiosis of form and space,” says Tom Schönherr from Phoenix Design. Harmony between different characteristics is reflected in a very special combination of the single elements. Ceramics and mixers were designed as a perfect unit, as if they had naturally grown out of the earth like a tree. This “growing out of” is marked with colours as well: The mixer is white and pure where it connects to the washbasin like the ceramics themselves. All lines run very smoothly and give the range a poetic lightness. The products almost float and seem as if dematerialised. PuraVida –  pure life, pure poetics.

The subtle emotionality, smooth naturalness and clarity of PuraVida turn the bathroom into a living space which can be experienced with all the senses: “The bathroom is turning into a living space more and more and individual ideas of howto furnish it will prevail,” explains Tom Schönherr, together with Andreas Haug Managing Director of the design studio Phoenix Design, which has been awarded many prizes. For more than 21 years Phoenix Design has been successfully cooperating with Hansgrohe and Duravit. More form, more emotion – PuraVida brings comfort into the world of bathrooms with a sensual, haptic and poetic design full of emotion and joy.
